Letter:

Dear Birth Mother,

It is with a grateful heart we say thank you for the extremely difficult decision you have made. This act of sacrificial love you are giving to the life of your child is amazing. We are sincerely thankful that you choose life and adoption for your child. Our family also would like to thank you for considering us as your child’s adoptive family. We pray God’s guidance and comfort as you choose your child’s adoptive family whether it is us or another family.
God brought Mark and me together through a Godly friend who had been praying for a Godly husband for me. God laid Mark’s name on our friend’s heart. The friend and their spouse picked me up and we met Mark at a restaurant. It was an amazing time, we began dating and through God’s leading in prayer we were married. We have been married since 2008. I came into the marriage with a son, Coby. So your child will have a great big brother. Coby enjoys boys scouts, camping, fishing, playing standup bass and video games. He loves to make people laugh. Mark is a Godly man whose gifts are encouraging others and acts of service. Our nieces and nephews adore him and always want him to play with them. He can’t wait to experience all stages of fatherhood from birth to graduations and beyond. I have loved being Coby’s mom and watching him grow and develop into a wonderful Godly boy and eventually a man. I love teaching in first grade, reading books and bicycling in the summer time. As a family we enjoy games, movies and going to the lake to swim and enjoy the outdoors. We are very active in our church, Coby is in the youth group. Mark is a greeter and I help in the nursery. We believe it is the most important thing we could do for a child is to share and model our faith in God with them. There is a lot of laughter in our home between Coby and Mark, they keep me laughing.
We have wanted to grow our family but unexplained infertility struggles has hindered it. But we know God is big and we are excited about how he will grow our family through adoption. John 1:12 says, "All who believe are adopted as children of God." As followers of Christ we cannot wait to shower the baby with the same love that God shares with us.

Trusting in Christ,
Mark and Dawn
